WATER

Water is a precious resource and we should use it wisely at all times because it's not as abundant as you might think.  Using water, especially hot water, also uses energy and increases emissions of greenhouse gases contributing to climate change. During a drought situation it's even more important to make sure that water is used efficiently and not wasted.

SAVE WATER IN YOUR HOME

Research studies showed that on average each person in Saudi Arabia consumes 286 litres of water per day, the third highest consumption in the world after the U.S. (no1) and Canada (no2). It also showed that a large amount of water is wasted during the laundry process as it is done on a routine basis.

ENERGY CONSUMPTION

Saudi Arabia is the largest consumer of petroleum in the Middle East, particularly in the area of transportation fuels. Domestic consumption growth has been spurred by the economic boom due to historically high oil prices and large fuel subsidies. In 2006, Saudi Arabia was the 15th largest consumer of total primary energy, of which 60 percent was petroleum-based. The remainder was made up of natural gas, the growth of which has been limited by supply constraints.
